July 9th

Today we left the chateau after breakfast and went into the city to visit a history museum, the Musee historique de la ville de Strasbourg. We were in the museum for about 2 hours and then rushed to the bus station for a day trip to Freiburg, Germany. This city was comfortable because everyone was so friendly. We did a little shopping and of course I had a German bratwurst for lunch. Yummy!

In Freiburg, there were little water canals in the street called "Bachle" which are used as a gutter system. They are surprisingly very clean and the locals say that if you accidentally trip or fall into one of them, then you will marry a Freiburger. I didn't fall into a canal but my feet were killing me so some of us took off our shoes and put our feet in the water while we were walking around.

This town really made me want to see more of Germany so maybe one day I can return. Gute Nacht! ("good night" in German)

Pictures below: the chateau when the sun went down tonight, a pretty building in Freiburg, me resting my feet in the water canal, me with the delicious brat I had for lunch, a welcome sign in the Freiburg train station, Ashton and me on the train to Freiburg, a random picture of a little boy waiting at the train station in Strasbourg...I thought he was so cute!)
