July 6th

We left our hotel in Brussels at 7:30 this morning and rode on a bus for around 3 hours to the small country of Luxembourg. Although the entire population of Luxembourg is only 500,000, it is quite an affluent place...I've never seen so many Ferraris and Maseratis in my life! The city was very clean and well taken care of and I'd love to visit again. Because everything was so expensive, we all ate at McDonald's for lunch. After lunch we heard a lecture at the European Court of Auditors (which was surprisingly kind of interesting), and then got back on the bus for another 3 hour bus ride. The ride was worth it because now we are staying at the beautiful and historic Château de Pourtalès in Strasbourg, France. When we arrived, they served us champagne and pizza! A perfect welcome!

The EU Parliament is in session this week and the Liberal Party is having a BBQ here tonight. We were invited to their party and will be attending in an hour or so. Maybe I will meet someone interesting tonight! Hope you enjoy today's pictures!
